DISCRIMINATION

Today's word is, 'discrimination'. Why have chosen such a sensitive topic anyway? Well, it's because I'm sick of it.

There's discrimination of every kind! Religion, race, culture, language, fashion, opinion, skin color, eye color, grammar, and a lot more. It's so sad really, and it's really happening whether you like it or not. No one can control it. Wiki says: that Discrimination is the prejudicial treatment of an individual based on their membership in a certain group or category. It involves the actual behaviors towards groups such as excluding or restricting members of one group from opportunities that are available to another group.

No one is an exception. You, me, everybody is a victim of it.

The real reason behind all this was because of an encounter that I had with my university friends yesterday. As you all might know, the university we're in is a Catholic teaching school. But due to its high standards in education, a lot of other students from different religions would also come in school here . ( I won't mention names or anything.) So, because it was the holidays, our department had an outreach program in a certain community and right before the program, there was a mass. So, we all politely sat down and listened to the mass. But one thing though, a friend of mine wasn't paying attention to the mass at all. I was thinking 'what the hell is she doing text messaging and playing with her cellphone while listening to the word of God? Even though she has a different religious background, doesn't mean that she doesn't have the slightest bit of respect for us?'

That, my friend turned my switch on. With intention of pointing her mistake out, I poked her in the head and said 'please, your cellphone.' and she just smiled and laughingly hid her cellphone which she later on took out again.

After that, I just didn't want to mind her anymore, and her behavior... UGH. But I tell you, I don't keep grudges, I just want to be frank about how I feel. And you know, just give at least your respect to God. I don't mind you upsetting me, just respect God, whatever your religion is.

So, to all you people liable for it, JUST BE SENSITIVE, AYT? Is that hard to give? Huh? You are not superior. No one told you that you're better than the others. God created us equally, and if you can't see that, dig deeper then.
